Agus Faidiban, the Pioneer of True Shallot Seeds (TSS) Farmers in Biak Numfor

Amidst the rise of the farming industry in Biak Numfor, a proud farmer named Agus Faidiban was celebrating his achievement. Agus successfully harvested 100 kilograms of Lokananta shallots, a superior variety, through the True Shallot Seeds (TSS) method. The mayor of Biak Numfor, Harry Ario Naap, attended his harvest day and even purchased the goods obtained from the harvest. His successful harvest was also attended by the Head of the Farming and Food Security Department of Biak Numfor and the Head of the Regional Income Department.

Agus was one of the farmers assisted by Yayasan Bina Tani Sejahtera (YBTS). Under the assistance, he managed to grow 50 grams of TSS Lokananta into 100 kilograms of shallots tubes of superior quality. Though his farming journey was full of challenges, his strong will and guidance from the YBTS team became the key to his success. Despite his excellent achievement, Agus did not want to feel overly satisfied yet. He believed his current achievement was just the beginning of his farming journey. “In the future, I plan to cultivate my crops on even bigger farmlands,” said Agus Faidiban.

Agus Faidiban’s success highlighted farmers’ potential and skills in Biak Numfor. He proved that strong dedication and adequate knowledge could give satisfying results. May his success story inspire many local farmers to continue working hard to develop their farmlands. Like Agus, all the farmers in Biak Numfor had a great potential to succeed.

In the future, the local government would continue supporting local farmers in cultivating shallots. The government of Biak Numfor gifted farmers with hand tractors that were expected to increase the farmers’ working efficiency on the farmlands. The tractor was the government’s initial step in showing their commitment to pushing the development of farming industries in Biak Numfor.

Agus’ achievements had become the icon of pride and hope for farmers in Biak Numfor. Let us all continue to support the journey of Indonesian farmers, so we can see more success stories coloring the Indonesian farming industry.
