Initially, Pak Try was a corn and peanut farmer because, for him, caring for these commodities was easier. Despite facing setbacks in tomato cultivation, it did not dampen Pak Try’s spirit. Witnessing the success of vegetable farmers around him, he harbored dreams and motivation to become a successful farmer.
Despite previous failures in tomato cultivation, Pak Try did not give up and kept trying. Eventually, the technical field officer (TFO) from YBTS helped realize his big dream by creating a demonstration plot for cultivating Servo F1 tomatoes. In one growing season, Pak Try managed to harvest 2500 kg of tomatoes with a selling price of IDR 10,000/kg and generate an income of IDR 25,000,000. For him, this achievement is extraordinary and will provide a better life for his family.
Pak Try’s enthusiasm and perseverance in learning and developing his agricultural business deserve appreciation. This demonstrates that with hard work, a passion for learning, and a strong will, anyone can achieve their big dreams. Hopefully, Pak Try’s success can serve as motivation for other farmers to continue striving and growing in their agricultural businesses.
