Context and Project Objective

The Knowledge Transfer & Extension Program – North Maluku supported by East West Seed Indonesia (Cap Panah Merah), aims to strengthen farmers’ capacity through training, demonstration plots, and Farmer Field Day/Expo activities as platforms for learning, practicing, and sharing successful farming experiences.

In 2025, the program expanded to Sofifi, Subaim, and Sangihe, bringing the total coverage to seven areas: Pohuwato (Sulawesi), Jailolo, Tobelo, Sofifi, Sangihe, Talaud, and Subaim. This expansion reflects the commitment to broaden farmers’ access to agricultural knowledge and technologies in North Maluku and surrounding areas.

Expected Outcomes

  • Improved knowledge and skills of farmers in implementing Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)
  • Strengthened local economies through increased agricultural productivity
  • Improved community nutrition resilience through more efficient and sustainable farming practices.

Location

Pohuwato (Sulawesi), Jailolo, Tobelo, Sofifi, Sangihe, Talaud, and Subaim.

Achievment

In 2025, the program supported 3,048 farmers, consisting of 1,844 men and 1,204 women, who received training and mentoring on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
