Bridging Knowledge for Sustainable Agriculture

For Yayasan Bina Tani Sejahtera (YBTS), knowledge transfer is the core foundation for strengthening farmer capacity to build independent and sustainable livelihoods. Through tactical and pragmatic approaches, YBTS ensures that every cultivation innovation is understood and directly applied on farmers’ land.

The following are the main pillars of YBTS knowledge transfer activities throughout 2025:

Integrated Learning

Knowledge transfer is conducted not only in classrooms but through an ecosystem involving direct field practice:

  • Training of Farmers (ToF): A total of 16,249 farmers participated in a technical training series. These sessions cover Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), life skills, and market access.
  • Learning Demonstration Plots: YBTS established 3,382 demonstration plots as ground evidence where farmers learn to use high-quality seeds and adopt GAP directly.
  • Farmer Field Days (FFD): A total of 67 FFD events were organized as platforms to share success stories and exchange experiences between farmers to encourage more efficient practices.

Seed Clinic Consultation Services

To provide more personal assistance, YBTS offers Seed Clinics at various agri-kiosks. This service aims to provide practical solutions to obstacles faced by farmers during the early stages of cultivation:

  • Involves 84 agri-kiosks as mentoring location partners.
  • Provides education regarding high-quality seed selection, uniform nursery techniques, and awareness of counterfeit seeds.

Digital Content Optimization

YBTS also expands the reach of knowledge transfer beyond physical boundaries through digital channels:

  • Utilizes social media and program-based Facebook groups to effectively disseminate cultivation guides, video tutorials, and program updates.
  • Consistent content distribution helps farmers stay connected with field teams and access relevant technical information at any time.

Collaboration with Educational Institutions

As part of the effort to strengthen regeneration, YBTS collaborates with various vocational schools and universities. Support includes providing guest lecturers, practical evaluation support, and farm business planning assistance for students in regions such as Maluku and Papua.

Effective knowledge transfer is key for farmers to overcome limitations. By equipping them with technical and managerial skills, YBTS believes that farmer success will be contagious and create a broader positive impact on Indonesia’s agricultural community.
